Prem Tiler
Hi guys I could do with some advise on a job I picked up today.
It's a bath surround that has awful leakage the substrate what ever it might be is wet and there for the 20+ year old tiles have started to pop off. they have been tiled over tile.
My plan is to strip it all off both layers of tiles and fix backer board to the 4.5m2 area that will need re tiling. Then tank it out and tile over with cheapest tiles I can get my hands on and Silicon to make watertight.
Is this the right action to take? And what problems might I incur? Here's a little info on the customer, she is a disabled old lady who really has not got the money to get this job done any other way than on the cheap. I'm only going to charge her for the materials and do it on a week end so I dont cost me anything. you may say I'm nuts but she's such a lovely old lady and truly cant afford to get it done any other way.
