After bit of advice

Hi people hows it going.


I am goign to tile my kitchen next week and the tiles i am using are square but do not have a straight edge there kind of a bevelled tile(if thats what you call them) lol

Anyway,i was just wondering if you still use tile spacers in this type of tile for a guidence or would you go by eye ?

Just that when i said to the guys in the tile shop i had little experience he kind of looked at me as if to say you will mess it up with tile as its not the square edged tile.

I tiled my bathroom about 6 monthd ago with a a standard square tile and finished the job fine.

And this time i ve got the 2/ 3 way cornor piece trims to help

you can stilluse spacers if they are wavy edges but i find it best to use a high grip adhesive like granfix supergrip and line them up by eye. keep the joints fairly tight 1-2mm for when the coners of the tiles meet as it will leave a big joint.

It depends how wavy. If they are just a little wavy then I would use 2mm spacers if possible. Just keeps things nice. If they are a lot wavy then you'll have to rely on doing
it by eye. Perhaps best thing is to try spacers, if they don't work then do away with them.

I did my kitchen with some little 4x4 inch tiles from B&Q, they were wavy around the edges, it was a bit of a nightmare.

I tried spacers to start with and ended up just using them by putting two at the bottom of each tile and one at the side as they wouldn't go in the corners.

I did my kitchen with these types of tile, didn't use spacers as they were very wavy edges, just keep stepping back and checking they look ok.

Just finished 24sqm kitchen floor,the tiles were very wavy,big difference in size plus she bloody wanted it in brick pattern.Bollox to spacers just use your eye,spacers aren't much help.
