Had a husband and wife on the course once and they were both in there 60s, they looked good on it though and suprisingly done well, especially the woman, they were both into DIY, maybe they were trying to get business from the other pensioners who knows, age has no baring, if your older i think there is a market in just doing kitchen splashbacks ( easy money and work), get yourself in with the right people that will pass them onto you, remember its all in the marketing of yourself

Hi mate
Tough for everyone at the moment, if your self employed its hard to find the work, if your employed you arent far away from being made redundant so just gotta stick in, Like i said on the course on day 1 morning, its not about being the best tiler in the world to do well, its down to how well your marketing, look back to the first page on successfully running a business, 4 key steps and theres your answer to why the phones not ringing. Ive lost count on how many times ive said this, you have to let people know who you are and what you do, then put your sales hat on and go round and sell them your services, money will never ever come to you, the ones that look the hardest do the best, doesnt matter how bad the ecconamy is
Keep trying mate, think positive and get yourself out there

Construction is the first industry that comes out of a recession, soon as the banks (which caused it in the first place) start lending, then the first timers get the mortgages and everyone starts to move, house builders start developing again, then construction services in demand again, its only a matter of time, just a waiting game for the time being
