Hi All,
Ive been hearing on the grape vine that there is a lot of confusion around tiling on anhydrite floor screeds, if you have a question regarding any issues with a screed you may have please feel free to ask, we can give advise on all aspects. Express screed lay various types of screeds, anhydrite, sand & cement, latex and thin section cementitious screeds.
follow these simple steps and you cant go wrong!
Test that the floor is dry with the correct equiptment ( hair hygrometer for anhydrite screeds)
Check for defects if any and have rectified by the floor screed layer prior to laying tiles
Remove laitence if any using apropriate equipment (floor sander works best for us )
Remove any dust and debris (hoover works best for us)
If the floor has ufh system make sure that it has been turned off 48hrs prior to any works and system is cold
Prime floor with high quality dispersion primer ( preferably one recomended by screed manafactures product)
remember anhydrite floor screeds react with portland cement there for they must be primed prior to laying any any tiles with an adesive containing portland cement
Im sure that there will be more questions andwe are looking forward to aansewring them
