Thought I'd share this with you all I've come to the conclusion I'm only on this planet to sort other peoples mess out we had an SOS yesterday to get a building firm out of trouble as after two failed attempt from the last tiler they chucked him off the job they told me they self leveled the floor so I looked at it today and it was terrible so It took me all day today chisel all the bumps off and level the floor back over any way the tilers first attempt he used a 4mm wall trowel and the second attemp he used a 12mm trowel but the floor was that bad he didn't get the coverage I feel the floor needs to be bang on as I'm using 1 metre by 4 inch planks staggered

Thanks I'm thinking of laying them two tiles quarter bond and the third half bond just to break it up and then repeat it another tip I taught myself is my cutter is too small it's a rubi 90 so I unbolted the guide bit and then it will take a metre tile it's the cutter with the push break handle so all good

looks good .
interesting to see how you staggered tiles.
i am not sure there is a correct way but we always go random with minimum overhang to next course of say 200mm on 1000MM TILE making sure that we do not get the step effect.
what you have done looks good and there is neverv a step look more than three courses.
i have always been amazed at how some tilers lay random length stone floors .
just a little bit of thought makes a big difference to overall look .
and we never have a cross joint . whether this is acceptable or not icdont do this in my company. same goes fo no cross joints in random floors

I used some 1mtr. planks a while ago, 600 sq. mtrs, rectified porcelain. The guy went over to Italy and bought them direct.
They were a nightmare to fit. Almost all of them had had either a twist or lip. You could put a straight edge over them and either daylight in the middle or on the edges.
There was almost no way of getting them dead on. I was tearing my hair out. I had already laid about 200sq. Mtrs when I had to take delivery of some pallets he had in storage, on the wrapping of each pallet was the word "REJECT"
