Another 'Van' question/thread

Good afternoon chaps/ladies,

As I'm currently just starting out on my own, the time has come for my trusty Passat Estate and me to part

I've looked at all the van threads on here - so here's a new angle -
Suggestions please for best small van, that can take 6 x 3's, budget of £3-4 K.


And before anyone else says it - NO, I am not matcho enough for humphing 8 x 4 's ! lol

I found an excellent website to compare 'Van Load Lengths', and was very surprised to see that the Connect, the Combi, etc etc are all 1.5" too short........ and from what I'm told that 1.5" makes all the difference ?

It's a tricky one, you'll need something which is bigger than an Astravan, bur smaller than a Vivaro/Transit. Fiat do a couple of mid sized vans, called the doplo or duplo or dingdong or something like that :lol: I worked with a decorator who had one and it looked very roomy in the back.

I have a Peugeot expert couldn't fault it , great room in the back and 3 seats in the front !

i had the expert fantastic van!,bought newer dispatch not so happy altho bought thru private sale so i suppose it takes a little time to get on top of them

I'd go for a bigger van than a connect sized van if you can stretch to it. It's surprising how much gear you need/collect. Nothing worse than having to climb over stuff in a small van.

Also, at least 1 if not 2 sliding side doors.......most bigger vans do anyway.

You can get a long wheelbase Connect 🙂 , they like it long you know :lol:

Thanks guys. Can any 'Combi' owners confirm/deny suitability to getting 6 x 3's in the back ? I perhaps see an 'expert' on the horizon though, pennies allowing.......
