Anti Slip Rating?

Hi there,

I have found a tile that I love, it says on the website it is for floors and walls. It's anti slip Rating is R9. We need to tile the walls and floor in a wet room, is this rating really terrible? It's called italian greige porcelin

If so, I have seen other tiles I like, but they're all glossy and don't all have anti slip ratings on the website... is it possible to get a gloss floor tile that we (or our children) are not going to slip on?

Unfortunately gloss = slippy .
even the anti slip tiles are slippy. You just have to teach the kids to not mess about. My 4 year old had slipped a couple of times in ours. I would go for the tile that works and that you like. Normal shower trays are lethal too.

R9 = not suitable for a floor. Should be r11 minimum and preferably r12 or r13

ok here we go r9 r 11 and so on are a complete waste of time these are dry floor rating so whats the real answer ask your surplier for ptv ratings for a wet room you should be looking for a ptv ratting of 36 and above most tiles dry even polished will be well above this but when wet will full to less than 20 so a high risk of falling on a wet floor its time the tile trade started to tell the truth and not hide behind r ratting a complete lie to you me and every body who nows no better
