Leatherface

The owners of the house where I am working have a very large guard dog, it is locked up when customers are not there. They have told me that it would not go for me, but would not allow me to leave, I try and give it a wide berth ! They told me that when they had the builders in, the builders were warned that they could go into back door to use downstairs toilet & through into the kitchen to make a drink, but not to go through into the hallway as this was where the dog was ! Owner came back one day to find the builder and his mate cowering at the top of the stairs in the main hallway. They had ignored her advice and gone into the hall, the dog had allowed them to go upstairs but would not let them come down ( very nasty snarling )
The customer was also very perplexed & annoyed as to why the 2 of them were up there together as they had no need to go up there, as there was a downstairs toilet & the only other rooms up there were bedrooms. She did wonder if they had gone for a kip, or had gone to "get to know each other a bit better", they could not offer a good reason why they were up there.

Tiled a kitchem floor in a black tile...........and the dreaded black grout.

Shut the kitchen door as I was grouting.........told the women to keep out for a while.
3.30pm the kids came in from school, and the little (orrible & white) scottie dog went mad with excitment, the kids opened the kitchen door to get some grub...........the dog shot in.........slipped over in the wet grout........and shot out again.......up the hall onto there beige carpet. Black pawprints all up the hall.

I was knelt there with my mouth wide open in shock horror. I heard the kids get a bollocking, and the dog get a kickin.

All I could do was shut the door again and carry on.
Went past the house the following week..........the carpet was all rolled up by the bins

i had to tank the whole of a bathroom/wetroom floor ans suggested a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs (as i noticed one was propped up against the wall in the hallway) as this would stop the dog running through the blue latex weber tanking kit (as the door was off its hinges) and treading it all over the house.

great idea atfirst, but this baby gate got put up right at the start of the job (and i was skimming the ceiling first anyway) right nuissanceto keep opening the gate each time i went up n down the stairs to mix plaster + adhesives plus the many many times if missplaced items and had to go in search of them only to discover they are already where i need them  but each time the dog heard the gate he ran up to me and jumped up me like he'd completely forgot who i was! how i never spilt any rapid set over there nice new carpets is beyond me but rest assured ill be quotiong more when an annoying dog or irritating kids are in sight.

im actually there again on monday and tuesday to do some plastering for them, think ill take a beef joiint and entice it into the back of my van and lock it up for the day

Went to collect payment from this 'really posh' house but customer deducted money (200 smackers) then gave me a bottle of wine !!!!! Just by chance my big dog 'escaped' from the car and proceeded to race around her very expensively decorated house (carpets 2" deep) She was in shock lol
Still get work from them but price has gone up lol

Ok it was my animal not the customers but I still get some satisfaction remembering her screaming!

had a customer in the williamwood area of glasgow who had the largest, scariest looking labrador in the planet(that didn't like strangers)customer paid me when grouting, making apologies about leaving, and told me to lock door and post key on the way out, explaining dog was locked in living room,bo**ocks the the thing was standing at the bottom of the stairs on the way out, what a bloody job i had coaxing this brut back in to the living room via the wrong end of a bucket, personnaly i love dogs but this thing was a monster and did not look freindly, never been so relieved to get out a house and stuff going back to leave a business card!
