as the weeks go by it will get easier, I've done the final vet trip a few times, eventually the sadness subsides and your memories tend to be of the good times you had. I hope these come quickly for you.

I really feel for you adey. had to have one of our bulldogs put to sleep in june,
it broke my heart and I cried like a baby. one of the family but cant see them suffer.

It still hasn't hit me yet, got to get used to not calling both dogs names is hard.
I'm picking her ashes up in a weeks time
