I got a call today from a tile shop who i actually don't generally deal with.
They have invited me to an evening with a laticrete representative(refreshments etc put on),i might not be able to make it due to where i might me next wednesday! can anyone tell me what its like? the adhesives, grout, tanking kits etc? i have never used it.

hi mate was invited to the same thing in tile market in bangor didnt go but have used it its pretty good stuff but at £20 for 20kg for the white rapid set i dont use it much i can get mapei for £12and is probably better or dunlop for £11 so i dont think it is worth the money!

used spectralock on friday as far as epoxy grouts go its the best one ive come across bit expensive but worth it:8:

isnt it just Jay - usability especially. The original demo I saw in the US was black spectralock put onto unsealed limestone - on the reverse - left 10 minutes...wiped off - clean as a whistle! No pigment. The colour is in the resins constituent (ask Laticrete, not me, for explanantion!)
Gives stain free grout pretty much for life.

Made it to the meeting this evening.very informative and seems very good stuff.i havent got a trade price yet but will this wk but one lad told me he was buying it at 13 a bag for grey flexi.the spectralock seems great grout.they even had the sparkle additives for the grouts.grouts seen very expensive but time will tell.i walked away with 2 26kg bags of the 335 highly flexible adhesive and a bag of grout to try so happy for now.lol.more demos coming up in hotels in dublin and belfast with better displays etc.

Hi Joe,

I didn't see this thread when you first started it. Laticrete is pretty much all that I use. I ought to check out the Laticrete UK site to see how the names are changed for your market. The 335 flex adhesive isn't a number that is used here in my market. What did they show you for tanking products? The two I use are Hydroban and 9235.

Hi CBTC, the color component is the "sand", which is completely inert, colorfast, and doesn't vary a bit in the shade of color from carton to carton. No efflorescence, shading, blotchiness, or other crazy cement grout problems. We love the stuff and use it on most of our installations.

Thanks for the 'science bit' Rob.
I try to push it where budget available.
