Thinking of getting an SDS percussion drill.. any recommends/steer clear of drills.?

I have the 110v version of this Hitachi DH24PB3 SDS Plus Hammer Drill 2 Mode 2.3Kg 240V | eBay UK I bought it in feb 2008 and use it as my mixing paddle and a breaker when removing tiles, so it gets used every day and I swear it hasn't put a foot wrong. I'm a big fan of Hitachi power tools now after owning this. The only downside I'd say is it doesn't have a variable speed or a slow start but, if you aren't using it as a mixer then that ain't a problem!

I've got a DeWalt (DW 25405) that cost me about £199. Didn't realise the power this thing had when I first used it.....nearly destroyed the blooming floor I was trying to straighten out!!!

Had my dewalt about 9 years now, cost £125 back then and still going strong. I think it must have drilled to Jay and back by now! Certainly paid it's way a thousand times over.That said I know a lot of other dewalt tools I bought at the time had a far better build quality back then than now.Dewalt clearly still make some great tools ala the tile cutter but they also make some rubbish ones.Hmmm haven't really helped have I? :lol:

i use a bosch 2kg sds plus it drills and chisels and is an excellent piece of kit(had it 2yrs now) and comes with a 3yr warranty.Screw fix are doing them for £175(page 966).Although i really rate the bosch if i was to be buying another drill i'd probably go for a milwaukee as i've got a set of there 18v li-ion drills and there EXCELLENT i'd not go back to any other.

i paid £30 from b&q with a two year warranty must be corded
