I used to be a plasterer and tiler but left to become a social worker 5 years ago! I am looking to get back into it but dont know where to start!!! need to get back into the swing. Im 26 and from chorley lancs if anybody can help me out. thanks
maybe best to go on a refresher course just incase you are a bit rusty and to give you more confidence but if thats not an option then you just need to get out there and promote yourself by various means.Check out previous threads on marketing techniques and advertising and this should set your mind straight, all the best m8.

Social work what it's cracked up to be,or just masses of red tape.

Whitebeam,on a personal level my wife worked for Glasgow City Council Social work Department and sometimes you need to be really strong mentally to deal with all the social aspects of the clients needs and like everything else it can sneak up on you and bite you on the bum.

ive looked into refresher courses and they are quite expensive especially when i know what to do. Like you said i think i just need to get a couple of jobs under my belt then the confidence will be back. Tiling isnt just something you can just practice at home. Ive done some plastering at my new house n i was suprised how quickly it all came back to me- mind you it nearly broke my back!!! Ive had it easy 4 the past 5 years!! cheers mate
