Would imagine the correct route would be to be a competent plumber first of all rather than just jumping straight into gas.

I've laboured for a plumber for 6 years with my business and him vice versa. No tickets so pretty irrelevant. British gas engineers are all trained from scratch with only gas???

a tiler here has done a gas course recently at the cost of a few thousand then he worked with gas safe plumber for a while to get his ticket, he was not a plumber at any level.i am pretty sure it was a full time course
