im glad someone had put a thread on about the plumbers forum its terrible some of the users arent helpful at all (sorry uug not you)

i posted a thread on there a week ago if anyone could recommend a 1 week basic plumbing course to fit my own bathrooms and the reply i got someone called ajs heating said if it was that easy all plumbers would do a 1 week course you learn nothing on a short course eg water regs and building regs maybe i took the post the wrong way but it sounded really smart arsed if you know what i mean it certainly wasnt the answer i was looking for

Im registered on there, it's very handy as a point of reference for those smaller plumbing jobs, Some of the guys on there are very protective of their trade, and dont like guys who have done courses. I think it partly boils down to the fact that the corgi registered guys spend alot of time and cash on attaining and keeping corgi status, there seems to be quite a bit of hostility betweed the time served and the course guys on there.

Each to their own i guess, seems to be a popular forum in any case

I'm registered but don't use it much due to people like ajs heating who have a real chip on their shoulders about short course plumbers. I answered one of his posts once in some detail about why not every body can be a time served plumber but surprise surprise he didn't have a reply. There have been a couple of posts on this forum lately about why we share information and help people but in my opinion, (and 99.9% of other members) that's how it should be. Cheers Lads!

not a good atmosphere, something has to be done all the guys who are developing the tiling skill and moving into bathroom fitting and looking for help and advice are running up against a brick wall the exception is uug and chase plumbing who seem to moderate. but on the whole the site seems to be a closed shop. :huh2:
