Aquapanel on top or behind shower tray

Yes I know where your coming from re your points but, in this situation with no weight problem, and if, I did say if the installation was done right then I really don't see the point, sure, if money is no problem then why not, just my two peneth.

Personally i will try to use the Wedi board. little more expensive but no need to tank and waiting for it to dry. Get it up and get it tiled in a day, great stuff.

I am not made of money - but I am willing to pay extra for tanking because its not that more money on top - I would rather have the piece of mind that I have done everything possible to prevent having to rip out the shower again any time soon especially since the re fit has become necessary because of previously leaking shower tray. Just hope my plumber/tiler does a good install. Any tips on what to look for re the sealing of joints etc????

Pasterboard, homelux matting, tiled same day

Or there is that if that's what works for you. I find the homelux a pain in the arse to use and you have to mix up the sticky to put it up plus you have to cut up the plasterboard. thats why i go for the Wedi, quicker, cleaner and easier in my opinion.... think think the homelux is a good product though, use it lots in bathrooms that have already been plasterboarded

Round my way Wedi/Marmox are a rarity, Asked TP and they did'nt have a clue what I was talking about.

To be fair mate i meant construction/insulation board in general not necessarily wedi (i just thought it was easier reading to leave it as wedi) same stuff but different brand. I don't know anywhere that does Wedi round here either.
