hi, i have just had these tiles laid in my living room and kitchen and cannot get the smokey grout stains off after mopping with dettol about 6 times, if anything its getting worse, i have had a look on the website and it doesnt give any suggestions on what to do to remove this. i know there have been problems with polished porcelain ones from b&q but these are entirely differant. can someone please help and advise thanks.

This might be a transit wax....Try a product from Lithofin called Abra clean...

Did the tiler try to seal them..?

no they havent been sealed its just a cloudy haze that seems to be getting worse the more they are cleaned, particularely around the edges. do you know the tiles?

when the tiles are wet they look fine its when they are dried this smokey white haze appears near enough all over

Nope...but B&Q do sell some stuff that has a temp transit wax on them and this needs remocing and then seal the tiles with an impregnator suitable for polished porcelain..

Try the Abra clean and then come back to us with the results...follow the instructions on the bottle.. you can get it HERE

It might be grout haze andrew...Sorry i thought you said polished..

Leave the Abra clean and try Lithofin KF Cement Residue Remover.

hi managed to find this stuff Residue Remover Extra Strong 1LTR at the local topps tiles would this be ok? looks virtually the same its extra strong or would the neautral one be ok?

It's not one i have used andrew... if you have a tile giant close by..then get LTP grimex..

If ever i get any grout or adhesive residue on porcelain tiles i use LTP grout residue remover and its superb stuff, you can either get it from tile giant or direct from the LTP website, always try it first on a inconspicous part of your floor, to see if there is any adveres reaction, and always wear gloves, and saftey specs when using this product

thanks for the suggestions! actually found another forum that suggested vinegar and water, and it worked! only cost me 90p and it has removed it no problem, appreciate your help, and just thought i would share the story. bowl of half water, half vingegar and a scowrer. cheers

It was the acetic acid that worked in the vinegar. The suggesstions from the other guys on here would have worked as well as they were strong alkaline cleaners. But the main thing is you got it sorted but I bet it stank as well:yikes:
