i used to supply and fix a good quality polished porcelain to several retail outlets about 10000 mtrs and never had trouble with staining never had to seal them but they are more porous once they take the hard outer layer off 😛ete

You make them sound like nuts pete ! what layer would that be ?

What you say about the tiles may be correct - but I tiled my kitchen 3 years ago and need to make a few alterations now - well done B&Q - they still stock them - or it could be that no one esle bought them of course.

On problems with tiles - learned a valuable lesson recently - did our bathroom in Laura Ashley tiles - only after I had fitted them that I noticed that 5 were a different shade. at first I thought it was a shadow cast by the shower screen - but no they are a different shade, one that they don't even sell. I bet I haven't a leg to stand on now they are fitted

Will have to be more careful next time

Laid 10m2 of B&Q porcelain tiles thurs & fininshed friday. Alot were chipped on their edges, so had to watch what I was doing.

They were the softest porcelain tiles I've ever used. They cut like ceramic cheapo's. Got to sat though, I was working out of 3 boxes, and the size didn't change at all. The last time I did cheap porcelain, homebase, they varied from 1 to 1.5mm.

I laid some porcelain from a shop last year and they burn't out my mercrist cutter in the two weeks they were so hard. Thats the difference.
