Thanks Cliff,
The Mapei Ultraflex maxi product you mentioned does not exist on your company's website. So there are no online technical info or user instructions available either.

Also I prefer to go down the chippings route because I will need less bags of expensive levelling compound.

Thanks to everyone who has offered help.

I have now managed to buy some 5mm chippings, nice and cheap, from a local garden centre. The BAL Tech guys said 3mm to 5mm chippings would be fine, but no dust. So products like Granodust 3mm to dust are unsuitable, should anyone else be trying this.

completed a job the other day and had 8 bathrooms on a camsite where the builder messed up the floor levels and had to make up 15mm. i contacted nicobond and bought their protein free self levelling compound and combined this with the granite chippings and it was lovelly stuff.would defo use again

Thanks tilermandan,
I looked on N&C's website and the Nicobond page is blank, offering no information on this product. It may be a great product, but I would be buying it blind. Also as per earlier posts they will not deliver to me in Surrey.

Thanks sWe,
The link you sent had an interesting statement in the Tech Info.
"When applying ARDEX K70 at thicknesses over 10mm incorporate up to an equal volume of 3mm ARDEX Aggregate."
Hallelujaha!
A cement screed manufacturer that actually supplies the products required to complete the job.
I have already purchased the levelling screed and chippings so it is of no use to me on this occasion. I have bookmarked this for future reference.
This info may be useful to anyone else searching for these elusive chippings.

i think we should get onto bal and get them to sort out something....i mean not supplying (or knowing who does!) something that is needed in addition to one of their products is useless! i've allready bought the multibase and have no receipt to take it back in additon to which i've bought 5mm granite chippings to dust which apparently you can sieve to get the 5mm chippings which would work...any takers for that idea? this is ridiculous! anyone know where to get these 3mm chippings from in the london area would be awesome!
