BAL Sponges:

Just a simple quick question, does anybody know where they sell BAL sponges.:whatchutalkingabout

Well I dont want to go against the grain or cause a big thread but IMO BAL sponges are as quick as a washboy on medium size bathrooms, I did not beleive it myself until a tiler gave me two, I was really surprised at their performance.

CTD will get them for you no probs.....but i think genisis super sponges are better than the bal ones.....

I like the hydro sponges from Trade tiler. Really hard wearing and quite cheap.

Never used a Bal sponge yet..... they might look nice if they got Bal printed on them though :lol:

They do have BAL printed on them! They are identical to the Ardex sponges except of course they have ARDEX printed on them. Same man, different hat!

I think they are about £1.85 a piece Bri. never used one myself, always used the Hydro sponges, I think they are excellent.

Hi Brian, I am not sure of the price but as for their performance then I can atest. For floors they are average as you will strugle to beat a washboy. For walls they area bit special. I cleaned off two walls the same size. Firstly with my washboy (rubi), good quick but with residue. Secondly with a BAL sponge, faster neater lines and next to no residue, just a light dust with a dry cloth. Grumpy states that Ardex are identical, I have no idea how he knows they are identical, (unless he means in appearance), or has the manufacturing facts...who knows. But IMO they are tops.

Told by the people that have used both, same feel same texture same performace, different name on the top. Oh, and BAL is part of the Ardex group.
