Those tiles are large format and as such should be fixed with a cement based adhesive rather than tubbed. The white star won't dry out properly as the air cannot get the the adhesive in the middle of the tile. The cement based adhesive dries chemically so doesn't require the air.

If going onto plaster you need to prime walls with BAL APD to stop the cement in the adhesive and the plaster reacting (also includes plasterboard)
