Bartering Is Back I Kid You Not

Yes, bartering is back !
I was pricing a job this evening, walked away with job in bag, an agreement which includes cash, 4 superb tyres for my van plus a nearly new battery !
I'm up for this sort of thing as long as I cover my bases which I done nicely. Lol.
Unreal but in current climate it's great, the customer was happy too.
Anyone else come across it lately?

I actually need the tyres soon enough, not the battery but handy to have.
The 4 tyres are on rims too, they scrapped a traffic that got wreck.
The wheels were off and alloys on he said, nice people and Iv come out very well in the deal.

You said it lol, I did a job in Kill Kenny a couple of years ago, the first day on site I was warned told they had a 'traveller' problem lol

jeez whats the the world coming to, we'll sone be working for a couple of ducks and a chicken to keep the family fed, cash of cheque for me..............although i did a job for a customer last week that had a mint 1966 triumph boniville.....now that would of been worth a deal!!!

dont think a kitchen spashey would of covered it........but i can dream.

Great idea! I have a deal with the garage round the corner. He also owns and rents out a few properties, and he services my van regular and I tile a few bathrooms. Straight swap. He provides me with the tiles, I provide adhesive, plus get my van all fixed up for free. Last service I put it in for, he put new brakes on the back, and even changed a wiper and just told me after really nice guy.

The only thing the tyres and battery are really costing me on the job is spreading 6 bags of leveller and supply of 3 primer G's.
So money in bag for 46m2 opus pattern porcelain on floors.
Not bad for me at all, very good rate I have too so Ye ha.
Doing the job soon too.

hillhead, is there a box on your tax return for how many tyres & batteries you earn in a tax year? I hink you have to put a cash value on the items you receive.............pound each for the tyres and £2 for the old battery!!! I think your batering deal is a glimpse of the very near future. Swapping materials & trades is a very good idea. Cheers Sean
