Basket Weave effect worries

Large Trave job coming up next week. Light Beige wall and floor tiles 60x40 in size. 50sqm in total. Customer wants half brick bond style. Newly plastered walls and chipboard floor (to be covered in ply) need advice on the brick bond as the last time I did bond it was with really crap ceramic tiles on crap walls and it was an absolute nightmare it seemed like for every one tile I put on I had to take two off because of the basket weave effect so any tips for this greatly appreciated.

Using Bal rapidset white adhesive.
Seal tiles before laying.
Grout then residue remover
Then seal again.

Feel free to make me look stupid.

Not sure what you mean by the basket weave affect, Travertine should be easier but slightly heavier, From what I understand your'll be doing the walls as well with trav seal with bal apd on the new plaster, All your've got to consider with brick bond is you only half a tile on the setting out so watch your cuts

Imagine what a wicker bascket looks like and then imagine a full tile above the join of two tile below and you get an in and out effect that is a real pain (for me anyway) to correct. I have been told differing methods from other tilers in my area on back buttering to overcome this, one says to spread addy on the wall then a few dolops on each tile corner the other tiler said none on the wall just dolops on the tiles. It depends on the tile as well Jimbob, if it's bowed there ain't alot u can do about it.

If the tiles are bowed that bad then just putt hem on normal landscape way..............straight bond......

i think landscape looks better myself. i talk customers out of having brickbond 9 times out of ten when i explain about the bowing of the tiles. it looks even worse if spotlights are fitted as well
