Ok my first question (of many probably) on the forum.
I am installing a bath which will also have a shower unit in it with screen.
There is plenty of talk of tanking for showers/wetrooms, on here but is it necessary/advisable for me to tank the area above the bath before tiling, if i am tanking should i still use aqua panel or can you use something else, wbp or even plasterboard? i will be studding these walls so fixing is no problem.

this is why you should tank any wet area.. whether it be shower, wetroom or even a simple shower over bath

Hi and welcome to the forum :welcome:

Avoid plasterboard and the WBP, go for aquapanel or wedi or similar. Plenty of info on this forum on all of this, use the search option.
Some of the guys tank the aquapanel as well.

Overkill in my opinion, if the OP is gonna tank then PB is fine, if water gets to the substrate through the tanking, it ain't tanked right.

Having said that, what tiles sre you going to be using ?

If you are renewing the surface of the walls then go for Tile backer boards 12mm.
