Bath step

Got a bathroom coming up and the customer has built a step to get into the bath. Its built very good and no movement currently boarded with ply but going to over board with hbb. As its my first step I am a litte concerned that the tiles may come away in a few years. Would it be better to use the floor tiles or go for mosaics?

I'd be looking at something with a bit of grip, so mosaic would be better!
Now I know they (steps) happen in bathrooms but my concern is the safety aspect with wet feet when you get out of the bath or kids banging their legs on the edges. So be aware of the pitfalls and find out the responsibility side of the step!
If you are correct with your fixing there will be no problem with this area as opposed to the rest of the installation.
Me I'd get a Jaffa box for them to stand on and they can move it around at leisure .

Thanks John never even thought about safety aspect of it. Ill mention it to them. Anything else I need to consider?

I don't know if you'll be doing mitres in the rest of the room. But id consider using plastic round trim for the step. Eliminate the sharp edge a bit in case of knocks

Agreed. Plastic quad trim and if there are any external corners use the pre-formed corners rather than mitre the trim.
