looking for usefull tip on laying ply in bathroom,ie full sheet or 2 halfs, how 2 mark toilet ,pedastool etc. its ma first toilet floor......
You'll find a full sheet a biatch to get in mate i think. I normally get a sheet from B&Q and get them to cut it to size. They do 4 cuts for free, if you do your messurments before you go down there then all you have left to do is cut round the toilet/ped and the little fidley bits round the outside.
For the best finish, take the toilet and pedestal out.
Depending on the size of the bathroom, you may need to section the plywood. But make sure your cuts fall onto the centre of a joist (just like plasterboarding), so that you can secure them down correctly.
Screw down at 300mm centres and make sure you leave a mil or 2 gap between sheets to allow for expansion.
Mark the toilet the same as you would when your marking your tiles, and make sure your screw's ain't too long, and are screwed down approximately every 6 inches.
