Bathroom floor

I have a bathroom floor to start in the next few days, it currently has vinyl tiles which are sound and beneath that the old square 1970 plastic tiles and under that I suspect bitumen!!!, given that the top vinyls are really solid and have a rough circular pattern on then, could this be a job for the Schluter Ditra or should I rip the whole lot up?

I personally have just use a 2 part adhesive straight over them without any ditra. And Theres never been any problems

I agree, 2 part is the way to go without ditra. If floor is sound enough, go for it. I had the exact same in a bathroom a few months back but it also had another layer of vinyl & a carpet. They both came up ok though.

The best option is to remove, the use of a heat gun will soften them up enough to remove...

Afters years of being in situ the surface will be to contaminated with cleaning products etc... but if it is a timber floor then if deflection is minimal them over board with Hardi 250 ...
