Morning all.

Thanks for all the help in previous posts.

I've now sanded all my bathroom walls using a belt sander on P40. Needless to say the missus wasn't best pleased with the dust...It gets everywhere even with the door closed and polythene sheet taped to the door frame!..Glad i wore a mask, safety goggles and ear plugs...

The emulsion is off and i'm now back to skimming plaster (reddish colour). I've used the Mapei Primer G from TG and brush it (diluted) over the proposed area of bath and shower, ceiling to floor. Just a few questions.

1, Seeing as i have over half of Primer G unused, is it beneficial to use for the rest of the walls?

2, As i've used the Primer G, will i still be able to use the Ardex x77 Adhesive for the wall tiles? The tiles are 40 x 25mm ceramic from Tile Clearing house. Nothing special just bog standard ceramic.

Just a quick question about backer board. I purchased a few sheets of 6mm boarding for the floor which will have UFH and Porcelin Tiles on top. I'll use the ardex 7001 adhesive to adhere the backer boards to the exsisting chipboard and then screw 150mm centres. I'll then use Ardex Arditex as suggested in prev posts as the slc over UFH then Ardex 7001 then tile.

The question..When we say screw 150mm centres. Is that every 150mm round the egde of the board or 150mm in either which direction?

Thanks again!

Chris

depends on screws i use self sinking ones meself mate, i know i go overkill but for the price of screws from screwfix i feel u cant have enough, british standards is in my opinion the basics we need so if you go over these then u wont go wrong, eg

dont do to bs and it goes wrong u have to pay to put right, go over bs and it works then all u have spent is a few extra quid for a job well done, tell punter u go above bs and trust m they do like it
