me to very seldom use them.... I set out room using pole laser level making sure there no silly cuts. If the tile is no bigger than 25*20 or doesn't slide, start with a row which suits then I tile the bottom then the top. If the tile is large format start at floor level and use coloured window packer wedges to get a level row and then use pegs.... hate spacers
