whats best way to tile on to a beam& block floor.
have room to stick 20mm insulation to beam block before elelectric mats and porcelain.

anyone got better idea

was going to stick 10mm or 20mm dukkaboard( similar to marmox or wedi)
then lay out mats .
latex with fibres on top of mats and then flextile adhesive under porcelain tiles.

just worried that beams may twist and because insulation stuck to beam and block tiles may crack

The beams wont twist as they have blocks with a slurry coat to lock everything up. there is a small amount of deflection in the beams but I think the matting will likely cope with that

ill let someone more experianced in matting advise you on that

but dont worry about the beams twisting:thumbsup:

Wot no screed on top first..........not seen that before. Some of the beam and block floor I come across bounce like a blooming trampoline till they're screeded. The screed also takes out the camber in the beams so it is flat.

Are you putting a polythene DPM on top of the block and beam before insulating. If you don't particularly with underfloor heating the floor can draw moisture from the cooler underside depite being ventillated underneath.

I agree that they are unlikely to twist.
