Full of lumps - I had to sieve them out, it smears and drags rather than spreads and sets off too quickly so you have to keep making up small batches.

I have always used Ultra tile adhesives which they used to stock and have had no problems at all.

Why change from Ultra to benfer??

Just don't use it if you don't like it.

sounds like you have a bad /out of date batch i have used tons of benfer in the past and it its excellent adhesive for the money did you mix it with a drill and whisk ?

My stockist has stopped doing Ultra. The batch was new in this week.

The one I prefer above all others is BAL but NOBODY in the area keeps this now.

Last year i bought some Beyer adhesive. That was really nice stuff to work with but quite pricy comared to the Ultra.

Direct tile importers in york and northallerton... not sure what they sell now, been a while since i was in northallerton branch..

I've used Benfer (altho I normally use Ultra), I had no probs with it at all, as previously stated, must've been a bad batch or stored in damp conditions:20:

I'm in agreement with others that it must have been a badly stored bag or bad batch. I've used loads of Benfer and found it to be excellent stuff, but a but pricey.

I get my adhesive from a couple of the local builders merchants, as there aren't any tile shops close to me. Tile Giant have said that if I order a mixed pallet they will organise for it to be delivered to my local Travis Perkins, if I want. I'm looking at that option as I can only get Ardex or Everbuild local to me and Everbuild is absolute ****.
