Best Grout Remover (other than FILA)

Hi all, I am using FILA grout residue remover and a scrubbing brush but carn't seem to shift the whiteish haze of my riven slate patio. Do I need to use a stronger solution or try something else.

Can anyone suggest something better/stronger and where can I get it from, it has to be plant safe as I will be washing some off onto the garden and the wife would not be happy if I kill her plants off.

You could use Ltp's grout stain remover, I used it last week and it worked brilliantly

Tile Giant - Ceramic Tile Merchants supply it, they have stores around the place but not all over the UK. Perhaps you could use their store locator to find your local.

When I come to seal the slate, I already have some FILA slate protector is this as good as the LTP sealer or should I get a refund and use LTP?

Also where can I post a picture when its finished?

I'm not 100% familiar with either products (I don't tile now). So I wont answer that one.

I would recommend checking how long the manufaturer states their product will last for, and make any decision based on that.

From memory, which isn't that reliable, I think LTP products are stated as lasting longer than FILA, by about 5 years. So personally, I would go for LTP. Hope that helps.

some slates react to certain grout haze removers and you get a white bloom from the acid attacking the surface ,some grout haze removers are hydrochloric acid based others are phosphoric acid based some are a combination of both ,my advice would be to get a few different ones and do a test on an area that is not going to be seen and then use the one which works the best wtih out damaging the tiles
