Hi gents,

got a wetroom to price up in a new build . 22mm weyroc boards already been laid in the room, will be a former from wetdecs. customer also wants electric ufh. customer doesnt want the floor alot higher than outsdide floor. What would your method be ? all advice greatly appreciated.

ted:thumbsup:

The former is 22mm thick, so you can sit the former on shims to pack up and to allow you to lay the ufh and slc up to tray height..but what prep of the chipboard are you going to be doing..?

thanks dave for the input was thinking whats the best way of doing this rip out the weyroc and lay wbp ply then insulation board? How would you tackle it?

ted

If you can replace the chipboard then that would save a lot of work..

Personally i would use 22mm ply and then ditra as water proofer... pack up the try as mentioned on solid shims along the length of the joists.. ply shims work best cut to the width/length of the tray.. then i abrade the tray and then tank over with Dura wp or Kerdi making sure all joints are covered by at least 50mm over hang.

Same pep/tanking for the walls in Wp Or Kerdi and over lapping to tray area and any wet areas.

You need to make sure no water can get through..

thanks dave much appreciated. would you use an insulation board for the ufh? Was going to tank all the floor with durabase wp would you still then need the ditra/ci underneath this?

ted:thumbsup:

done a number of wetrooms dave but this is the first with ufh so want to get the best advice on here and to get it right first time.

:thumbsup:ted

Dave what do you think of this method any problems?

Take up weyroc replace with 22mm wbp plywood.
fix insulation boards over ply with spf
lay ufh
latex self levelling compound up to tray level
durabase wp over floor and tray.

any advice greatly appreciated gents
