I’am onto Xmas cake now!
Had the Morrison’s basic mince pies last week as they are sold out of ‘ the Best’ range - ok but still not as good as Morrison ‘The Best ‘.

You can't beat home made pies with Robertsons mincemeat. Just a teaspoon of mincemeat in each small pastry case. Normally the juice oozes out of the pastry and it becomes extra sticky - ummmmm.

I just demolished a box of Asda mince pies - Yuk.
Kipling pies have gone down hill over the years.

Most of the shop bought pies are baked for about 30seconds and have way too much sugar.

Missus made some today, nice with the icing on, she also does them with a meringue top too - they never last long enough to photo!!

with raisins , we have the fritters.
they are fried in oil.
therefore a little heavy for me.
