big tiles in splashback area

Got a splashback to do but they are using 9x11 tiles and i will have to cut one of the tiles down ,should i just pre cut all the bottom one's and them lay them off the work top or should i lay a full one of the bottom and cut the top one, but doing it the second way creates more work IE battons and a tile trim on top .

I would go with full tile sat on worktops and cut under units......why would you need battens.?......Gaz

Yes, well just be sure to ensure that the worktop is in fact level all the way across as a few mil will stand out.

Because if the worktop is out or i decided to cut the bottom row of tiles , the above row may slip as i will have to lay that row first . The reason i was thinking of cutting the bottom row was because there are not many units and a lot of tiles will be showing and i hate using trim as i think it looks rubbish but i may have to go down that route.

I think I understand now, worktops are no where near level then ,can you not wedge them up underneath to level them off ?
