Hi,

I am currently working with a tiler who has 21 years experience and is a total expert.

He has asked me to source re-usable tile spacers, which apparently are same thickness 1,2,3mm etc, however they are placed between tiles and can easily be removed afterwards as they have an increased depth for grip - this also prevents the spacers slipping behind tiles when using a larger notched trowel.

HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Does anyone know where I can source these spacers ??????????????????????????????????

Thanks in a anticipation !!!

Sealtiler !

You can re-use any spacer. Just don't push them in all the way. If you're using crosses and you put them in the corners you'll have a hard time getting them out. I used to use crosses but used two at the bottom of every tile about 10mm in from each side and the odd one in the virtical joints where required.

The trick is to work in patches and as your adhesive grips or starts to go off, you can just keep pulling them out as you work your way around the wall or floor to re-use them.

There are spacer pegs and wedges too.

The spacers you are talking about are long leg spacers from Rubi, If you require any let me know and i will order some for you, they are about £4 per thousand, as Dan says any spacer should be long enough to get a grip of and put in and pull it out quite easy. The rubi ones are for the large format tiles you are talking about where the extra lenght and depth comes in handy

Spacers are designed to be lost. Not very environmentalty friendly that....never leave a spacer behind,if you you ask yourself... what is that spacer doing?stopping you from getting nice clean flush grouting line, costing me money replacing it,clutterinmg up my tool box, clagging up me hoover, trapping in my boots just because it's shaped like an X dosn't mean to say that you have to find an X space to put it in!!!!!!!!!!rest it on top of two tiles and re-use it plz,if sat on top then it cant be lost below THINK ONCE,THINK TWICE THINK SPACER
