Bike Shop Tiling Ideas ...

Hello fellow beings and tilers :smilewinkgrin:
I'm lucky to be busy with work at the minute so heres another one i have in bag.
It's a local bike shop which has relocated after a fire in their previous shop.
I have the contract for tiling this new one, i have well over 300m2 on first measurements with more to come later as the builder move walls etc.
Here's my thing.. The owner has left it in my hands just like he did with his own bathroom 3 months ago !!
Happy days then, i'm thinking of a light coloured 600x600 for main areas laid diagonally, straight etc and borders etc.
Has anyone any links etc or pics of shop floors done etc?

hi joe,is the bike shop just a showroom or does he have a repair centre attached?

is it the sort of shop that does repairs as well as sales or simply a showroom mate,if it does repairs also i would be inclined to look for a more dark tile but hey thats just my opinion

Repair shop in there too, this is a pedal bike shop.
Big downstairs area with mix of wood and tile, stairs possibly to tile to leading up to a massive upper area part tiled and carpet.
I need to source everything so light coloured preferred but even bit darker could work, i have to get this right but i certainly done his bathroom up to his standards and beyond.

motorcycle showroom specifically didn't show anything exciting, but above there are a few possibles? Personally I would see if funds would stretch to having part black sparkly tiles, part grey, some accent red (again) and white..

Thanks Jamie and Gisela, sure is a good job Jamie.
I know the guys in there well too, i hope the builders do a good job re screeding etc.
I'v not had a figure put to me yet but i have mentioned one that i think will do it all roughly.
As soon as i find my main tile i'll go from there, i have 33m2 of timber effect tile in my van and showed them a sample, it might work around certain areas to create a timber effect frame. All ideas so far but they loved the sampe.

use the timber effect as a border then the guts a different tile laid on the 45 maybe a feature in the center incorporating the border

300m, not your average bike shop then Joe.
will they be selling kids bikes too?, if so I would guess the littleuns will be test driving them round the shop, rubber tyre marks and a light coloured tile might not be great

that was my thought a light tile,people bringing in dirty bikes for repairs and people wheeling them about light tiles might take a hammering?

what about using both your ideas joe......use the plank effect porcelain for the walkways round the shop area and the light coloured tile for all the areas the bikes on show will be sitting..would that work like have you got a plan from the owner of the layout his shop is to be

Big shop for sure, i even have a wet room to tile in it for washing bikes..lol.
The timber effect tiles i have are for a job starting on monday and are 800mm long.
I can get narrower ones and cut them to same size as whatever tile i get so this is gonna be fun.
The man trusts me well now, i'v known him a few years now and have bought lenty from him including mountain bikes, kids bikes, karts etc.

I have a copy of the plans so no probs there.
Builders moving in this week hopefully so it'll be a months or two yet.
I told him he should have an area for testing bikes too, very handy inside a bike shop.

Why dont you use natural materials as well a pebble bed or log path
