Got a chipboard floor with water ufh beneath the floor to price, the builder seems to think that 9mm ply will suffice:yikes:.

I was thinking 6mm Hardie but will the heat travel thru or would a ditra fixed with Ardex AF200 be a better bet.

Tiles are a Porcelain 1200x600mm.

Hardi for me too, the heat will pass through that no probs, it's not an insulation board.

Depends on how solid the chipboard is mark .. I personally think heat under chipboard which is basically glued particle board needs overboarding with a cement board and hardi is a good one for not blocking heat transference .

Definitely not John...the chipboard is glued and screwed to joists.

I've got exactly the same to tile over. It has been overlaid with 9mm ply [emoji21] thr floor is really solid though so the only movement I'm worried about is the ply when it shrinks and expands so I'm going to lay ditra.

Id be inclined to use ditra, only because the NMP 6mm I use has a reflective rate of 60/75%..
one thing is a def is take that 9mm up

I did on more or less the same, hardie,then tiled, it's Bob on,was there the other week tiling the bathroom
