Hi everyone,
Just been to give a quote for tiling a hallway, wc, and utility room floor's.
The customer has not got the tiles yet and has told me they are black tiles with speckles(like glitter) in them.
I think I know the tiles she means and I just wanted to know if anyone has laid these type of tiles before, and if so just a couple of questions:

1. Do i need a particular type of adhesive (tiles going on a concrete floor)
and also,
2. Do you cut these tiles on a dry cutter or only on the wet cutter.

Hope someone out there knows the type of tiles I'm on about, any advice much apreciated...!

Sounds like granite tiles to me - they have speckles running thru
they would have to be sealed with a neutral sealer too
wet cut everything on granite as well

Yep, they could be Galaxy - black granite with gold/copper speckles. Just laid 17m2 of them. Floor need to be flat ,flat, flat! Rapidset would be fine from Bal.

Wet cuts all round I'm afraid, if it is these tiles. Natural stone, price accordingly!

Could be conglomerate tiles chips of granite and metal set in resin , and polished finish , always wet cut (it will smell a bit like in plastic if conglomerate) use a powder adhesive like weber rapid flex which will stick to the resin (as it is non porous)

ive got the tiles simbur is talking about they said on the box to seal and use flexi addy.

Yeah,
Thanks for the replies guy's, Im going back round there tommorow to take a look at these tiles,
Interesting point made about the floor needing to be flat as possible, these tile's are going down in a hallway with a new extension at the front so floors probably a
bit unlevel where the old meets the new,(you know what these builders are like.)
Will I need to seal these tiles before laying though or before and after grouting..?
Cheers.

Hard to respond to the sealing question without knowing what the tiles are. If they are Granite, seal before grouting. The other tiles I have no experience of so can't comment.
