Hi to everyone, finally found time to register. After browsing around the forum which i find informative and educational, its nice to know that almost everyone admits to ****ting themselves on the first day of the first paying customer. I,ve been going for a year now and the confidence does come in time.
The best piece of advice i recieved was when i asked a fellow tradesman about "love-jobs" he replied- "I dont love anybody that much"

Good luck to all...................

Hi m8, glad to see things are going well for you... they say the first year in business is the killer time dont they?

Mind me asking how you found work? Paper ads? etc?

hi BRH, cheers for the welcome, a lot of my initial work was through a mate who is a kitchen fitter, he leaves cards with every customer ( for a pint) but the major break came when the company he works for needed there showroom displays tiled which i did do very cheap but now evry kitchen fitter and salesman now recommends me, most kitchens splash backs can be done in a day. I also done lots of leg work posting cards in to shop windows and conservatory suppliers etc... On one day when things were quiet in january i left my van outside B&Q all day beside the main entrance and it worked, i got a job from someone taking my number from the van. But yellow pages seems to do the trick.
cheers..... jabba
