Boarding my bathroom - advice on tile board/plasterboard

Hi people, I'd really appreciate some advice for some experts.

I'm just about to start boarding my bathroom walls and I'm wondering where to use plasterboards and where to use tile backing boards. I'm thinking that in the shower area and around the bath area I would use water resistant tile backing board and plasterboard elsewhere.

Why not plasterboard the lot and tank the shower area

Is tanking straightforward enough? A better option than using tile backer board?

Yes,its easy,plasterboard is good to tile too as well

Is tanking something that a tiler would generally do? I wanted to get the room ready for a tiler so would you recommend plasterboarding everywhere?

Yes most definitely,tanking is what a tiler would do, just make sure the weight of the tiles and addy don,t exceed the max for plasterboard, someone will b along with weights and such, i think its 30kg for plasterboard

I will probably post to ask if any tilers fancy giving me a price for our install. We're based in Solihull and I'll get on it as soon as I have the room ready.
