make a fuss of him mate, let him think he knows what he's on about. blow bubbles up his arse, that way, he'll get the self worth he's looking for, he'll feel as if he's contributed to his own job and you'll get paid cash at the end of the job, oh and he'll recommend you to another one of his fraternity lol

keep your cool, get paid, move on....... next!!!!

Next time he does it, hand him your tools and tell him if he knows how to do it, then he can do it himself.

A mate of mine, who's a carpenter, was fitting something, and the customer was the "I'm-not-telling-you-how-to-do-your-job-but"-type. Normally, he just goes with the flow, and tells them why he does something in a particular way, but that morning, he'd had a row with his girlfriend, and then his boss........

He was nailing something with a nailgun, and the customer began saying something along the line of him not nailing at close enough intervalls, and he just lost it...

He shot what was left of the belt of nails into the same spot, dropped the gun, and the shouted at the customer that "if she was so damned knowledgable, why didn't she do it herself!". Then he picked up his gear, and calmly left.

No, i haven't had a bossy customer yet, but i've only just started my eight job this morning. But, I finished a job on Thursday for a 60 yo guy that I work with in my day job, and his house was the house from hell. Kim and Aggie from How clean is your house? wouldn't even tackle. I mean it was filthy, had top climb over bags of rubbish to get to his kitchen. There was rotten food everywhere and I mean everywhere, you couldn't even see his furniture because of all the rubbish. He kept offering me tea, but i wouldn't even rish taking it because I was afraid of catching something. I used to go to the local shop for coffee and a sandwich, because even the smell of the house was because of all the rotten food was disgusting. On Wednesday the smell and the rubbish finally got to me and I told him that he was a filthy pig and that he should clean his house. He just said that why should he clean it when he lives on his own. I tiled his bathroom and the entire kitchen and now he wants me to tile his hallway. I told him no way! Funny thing is, his job were we work is to clean the yard and to keep the warehouse and stores clean and tidy. I don't think i would mind a bossy customer after him!

Agreed.....this is the hardest option to take though sometimes lol :furious3:

For years I was told ' well the customer is always right', but we all know that isn't always true. Then someone told me ' no the customer isn't always right......but the customer is always king'......no customers = no income, so I think he had a point
