It's easy , just get a tester, you defo do not need a electrician to test it, just get a metre likes been said .
Radim you HAVE to check it, when installed, when SLC and when tiled, you can
Nic it and break it [emoji33]

devi do a tester were u can leave it on through out instelation and fitting sets an alarm of if u un lucky enough to cut the wires

I did have a few of the warm up testers that you just connect and leave on until end of work. I'll have a look to see if I can dig a spare out??

I use the Devi tester. It's a good piece of kit. Did manage to damage one once and alarm went off. Off to get a repair kit and job sorted before laying screed.

I also use device from Warmup - watchdog. if you cut wire it goes off. it is connected all the time of installation. better than meter me thinks...

The kits always say don't try to fix if broken. Whats your method of repairing ?

It was a long time ago unfortunately I can't remember (happens when your nearer 60 than 50!!) whose UFH it was but they did do a repair kit.
