Bucket trowel

What one do you use?i have used tile right, rubi and find them very clumsy!! My favourite bucket trowel was a venitian marble trowel I just started using for tiling work but I lost it (£30 but worth the money). I recently got the small genesis one and find it excellent and good price to at 4 quid! Don't forget, your bucket trowel is one of your most used tools, the right one should feel like an extension of your arm

for getting adhesive out of the bucket!

I normally buy cheap ones as they don't last me that long, they usually get clogged up with adhesive then I break them trying to hammer it off!! Whatever I buy though I normally round the corners off with some snips and a file, I find it you can get the last bits out of a gorilla tub easier that way!

I had a rubi one, it was a bit small and then I lost it. Not sure what make the one I have now is, got given it by a plasterer. It's had the muck hammered off it tons of times and just keeps going. I'll take a pic.

I don't mix adhesive with my bucket trowel!!!

bucket trowel uses=
removing adhesive from bucket
removing excessive adhesive from anywhere
cleaning trowels, levels between mixes before sponge
lifting tiles to apply more adhesive
.... I'm sure there are more

My trusty bucket trowel snapped in 2 on Tuesday, I thought I'd be ok for 1 day but I was lost without it for the afternoon. Couldn't believe how much I used it for and how much I needed it. Don't know how some folk manage without using them

Got 1 from B&Q on my way home. It'll put me on, then I'll be getting a decent one at the weekend

I have to admit......I find bucket trowels too long........so I cut them back with a grinder...............lop about 2" off......and all is good!!.....

I bought one from Travis Perkins and it was brilliant, not too long, lovely balance. Green handle, that's all i can tell you about it!
I only bought one, i has since snapped and i can't find any that are as good to use.

I love my Rubi towels. But I've never got on with anyone's bucket towel. Other than Wickes own.
It's slightly smaller than most of the branded ones I've seen and used. Very hard wearing, mine have lasted years and have taken a right battering. Think there only 5 or 6 quid too.

The Ragni ones from B&Q are brilliant. Take some abuse and don't bend out of shape like cheaper ones do.

I really like the lug at the end of the handle, stops it slipping off the side of the bucket and in to the mix. The steel is a bit thin for scraping addy up that has gone off but i've got a ragni one that i use for plastering that is great for that job

Why a pointing trowel? What do you do with that?

I just brought it so I could start my mixes as my mixing drill is just an old drill with a mixer paddle attatched so I don't make a mess as there is no power control on the drill lol and yeh I just walk around pointing at people don't like lol

I use a ragni trowel sturdy as hell, great for lifting large tiles and getting addy out of buckets!

I like and use a BIG bucket trowel from Machine Mart £4 odd strong and takes some punishment.
