bull nosing stone tiles

Hey people,

Anyone have any advice on how to bullnose stone tiles on steps. (what is best equipment to use without shelling out hundreds of pounds).

i believe you can either do it by hand or with power tools -

if by hand, you can buy a set of diamond hand pads for about £80 - you start off at the rougher grit and work your way up - i believe polished tiles are about 500 grit - so you'd start off at say 50 and work your way up/down

if power tools, you can by diamond pads - i think from my reading you need a low rpm angle grinder and again, would work using different pads to achieve the desired finish

i've never done it - so might be completely wrong - but do a search on here and there are quite a few discussions about it..

If you don't fancy buying all the gear (one off job??) take them to your local granite worktop place, it could work out cheaper

Enduro right - about 2 months or so ago one of our contribututors / members - could be 'Hillhead' posted some interesting photos with a large staircase - all with bullnose and in the post there are some replies to my questions about tiling tools for bullnosing - you can get an attachment for an angle grinder Dave or Sir Ramic also know about these bits.

Search the forum for bullnose etc and you should come up with it

If its a small run of B/N then I agree that it might be easier and cheaper to get your local granite workshop to do it for u
