Always a bit of a damp squid up here when it comes to burns night, though I do love a bit of haggis.....

Faggots don't count.
I had haggis and a veg haggis, neeps, mashed potatoes, peas and sweetcorn. Gravy always helps.
And a glass of red wine.
And we (the family) addressed the haggis. Did a pretty good job of remembering it.

Although the Scots did wear a Kilt type garment in battle, bit diffrent from the shortbread version for the imperialist I mean Royal visit

it's also diwrnod santes dwynwen today, thats saint dwynwens day which is the welsh equivelant of valentines day but i don't know of anyone here that celebrates it. it's also chinese new year and my favourite takeaway has shut for a month as they've all gone to the far east to celebrate it :mad2:

Usually go to my mates with a few of us and his family, they have a nice big country manor and do an amazing burns supper. We are usually in full evening highland dress with prince charlies.

Not this year though his dads in Monaco, mum in Wales and he's away doing a production

So I had macaroni cheese instead lol.

Penicilin........Fleming was Scottish.......but invented it in London.

Back to Burns, part of the reason I acknowledge it is im proud to be part of a country (and a Gael) with such a Romantic history and culture, something nobody can take away even if some eijit trys peeing on it :smilewinkgrin:
