Butting tiles upto the trim

Say u are tiling a window...you do the face, slot the trim in then proceed to tile the reveal...do u butt the tile tight up against the trim or leave a grout line between trim and tile? :8:

I think it's down to personal choice....i don't leave a gap as i find the grout can crack and fall out...as the grout does not bond to plastic trims..

I like a nice tight joint to the trim as the homelux ones i use the tile edge tucks slightly under the profile but as i said it is personal choice..

Yea a customer pulled me up on it on my last job i left 2mm grout line...i said its personal preference, he was worried about dirt falling down between the tile and trim? maybe he thought i wasnt going to grout it! anyway he was happy when the job was done may ask customers in future which they would like.

i prefer to feed the tile into the trim no grout line as dave says the grout tends not to like plastic.

I tend to butt up or into trims, apart from on window cills, where I leave a 2mm (ish) gap to let condensation run off the cill and not down the back of the trim

I tend to but the tile upto the back of the trim and often end up having a fine grout line over the top.
