Recommendations please for a cheap used van. I've had Astramaxs, Astravans, a Fiat Fiorino, a Transit and now it looks like my Berlingo is about to become an ex van too. Could probably do with 3 seats so thinking maybe Dispatch or similar?
 
I'm running a Peugeot partner at the mo..not too big, not too small, they won't fit an 8x4 plasterboard in though, got 3 front seats, rex you could pick an 06/07 plate up for £3g 😉
 
Viviro. ..trafic. ...primaster ...all the same vans really.
Could get an 06 for 3 grand ...think thats the year they ironed out the gear box issues. ...and changed to cam chain instead of cam belt.
I got 05 trafic. ..and to be honest I seem to be waiting for the next thing to go wrong.
Im sure the 06 models onwards are the ones to go for.
 
Thanks for the replies. To be fair to the Berlingo it's only cost me the usual tyres, pads etc for the last 5 years. However this last month its been like driving a circus clowns car, everytime I stop something breaks or falls apart!
 
2007-2008 around 3 grand? I do like the vivaros, traffic, primastars but concerned over mpg. Loved my transit when I had that. Could fit almost all my gear in it but it was proper thirsty.
 
2007-2008 they did sort out gearbox issues. But it got tons of other problems. I know got 2003 vivaro did nearly 70k in it How about ducato L1H1 (swb) with transit engine (psa) only egr valves goes on them that what i heard and that will be my next van
 
Cheers, will have a look. I always have a soft spot for Fiat. My Fiorino was bought for a couple of hundred quid, was bright purple and covered in rust. But it went all round the country, always completely overloaded and I got my money back when I sold it 2 years later.
 
Transit connect, you can fit everything in as ya can see lol

Ha brilliant! Every van I've ever owned has looked like that. The bigger the van the more crap you fill it with.

The bigger the van the more I seem to carry...
 
That would seriously mess with my OCD (or CDO, in alphabetical order!). Everything has a place and purpose, I hate having to move stuff to get to stuff! You end up buying more because you can't find it! Square and erect!
 
I had an 08 plate Primastar & it was a fantastic van.
Now got a 14 plate Trafic.
They sorted the issues on the gearbox on an 06/56 plate.
If you get a vivaro etc, check for water pooling round the injectors as this is a common fault.
 
Cheers Stef, possibly looking at a Primastar tomorrow. Off to sunnier climes for a week from Monday so unless I'm smitten I may leave it a week.
