I keep coming across t&g chipboard bathroom floors - normal for 1st floors on newbuilds, but the bathroom floors are painted / sprayed either green or grey.

This isn't the same as the P5 graded green boards where you can still see the wood fibre in the colour. Instead these are coated / sprayed / painted either green or grey.

I assume that it is done as extra defence against moisture but does anybody really know what it is and more importantly, can I use FastFlex 2 part adhesive straight on to it?

Thanks!

Hope so Dad, just quoted a job for doing just that. hope one of the 'old' lads can put us right.

It is a waterproof coating applied at manufacture........it is to prevent moisture damage when they are building the houses...because they lay the floors as they do each lift and the boards are coated to protect them from the elements of mother nature..all to do with H&S that the floors have to be sheeted as they build.

You will have to overboard..if only in thin ply if using fastflex..
