it's even better when it's raining. nothing nicer that sitting inside your tent listening to the rain hit the canvas (or whatever the material is they use nowadays to make tent flysheets)
wellies on, mug of steaming tea, scarf, gloves and hat on even in August
Last time I went the lakes on a mission it was Jan and we woke up with the tent covered in snow. And we couldn't find the path we drove onto the field in which was pebbles and rocks and stuff, and struggled for hours to get two cars off a slopped grass bank with snow on, of which at the bottom of the bank was a lake. That reminds me of my childhood holidays in the lakes

Very scary. Nearly had to get the farmer with his tractor.
Tell me about it! It was fine when we pulled up, just cold. Woke up with a in a flimsy tent with a foot of snow on top. Me and the mrs were pretty much touching the 'roof' of it lying down. Them damn flexi-polls!
just wanted to show off my current tent set-up. sorry to bore anybody. At least I put in a descriptive title to warn people
maybe I should find a camping forum as well
