Hi All

I have been tiling now for 8 months and really enjoying it, and have just completed my wesite. The question I'm really asking is "can it really improve your business and bring in alot of jobs". Obviously, the more sites you have links to your website, the more people will see it. Since publishing my site nearly 3 weeks ago, I have had approx. 130 odd visits (not sure how many were freinds) but as yet no actual calls or emails.
Has anyone seen a dramatic improvment in custom since starting a site, and if so, how did you go about it?

please have a look at my site and give me some feedback if i'm going wrong somewhere. www.versatiletiling.co.uk.

Many thanks

the site is pretty good, areas i would change is the satisfaction guarantee and the 15% discount ,if you are marketing yourself as a specialist and doing really high standard work you dont need to offer either of these gimmicks ,also topps is a national chain tile store not a specialist or niche supplier are you a topps approved fitter ? if not, why mention them ? overall your site is really good you need better pictures for your gallery imo good luck with the business

Thanks for the feedback, It's really helpfull getting another tilers view of it. I've only had feedback from family and freinds so far, and they may hate it but wont tell me. I am a Topps Approved fitter, its really just a little thankyou for the work the local topps stores have given me. More pics will come in time i'm sure. I see what you mean by the discount. I'll give it some thought. no doubt the whole site will be totally different in a years time.

many thanks again

Great looking site Steve but I think there is alot of bits in there that really don't need to be IMO. A few of the Q & A for instance. Quality not quantity is the key I think.

Also why do you have cheques paid in to a diffrent name? Big no, no I think and so will most the public I guess. If you really must for a good valid reason then tell the customer face to face rather than over the web.

Your work looks a really good standard for just 8 months, where were you trained?

I'm not keen on the tile type or tile estimator I think those are suited to a tile supplier not a fixer but again, thats just my opinion.
